First ever Alumni Meet of MJPRU was celebrated by DAK College on 23 December 2009
Dayanand Arya kanya PG College, Moradabad turned into its Golden Jubilee year and observed December as its Golden Jubilee month.
All those ,attached with the college, felt proud that they were a part of Golden jubilee. To felicitate its gala year, college had endeavored a new step further and solemnized Alumni Meet on 23rd Dec.2009.Although the association was founded two years back but first Alumni Meet was celebrated this year, just 11 days after Golden Jubilee celebration on 12th Dec.2009.
This College has 50 years old history and alumni are from different walks of life.
The first step taken towards contacting old students was through advertisements in different newspapers and corresponding several schools, colleges and many other organizations.
The response was overwhelming and many old students had shown faith in college even after so many years. College got nearly 250 biodata out of which 16 were lecturers, 4 Army professionals, 6 Doctors, 2 PCS, and more than 100 teachers working in different colleges and public schools.
Besides, we have alumni working in administration, doing research, preparing for civil services, NET qualified and 3 have qualified IAS main and preparing for interviews.
The function began on 23rd Dec. 2009 at 11 AM sharp in college campus. The chief guest of the programme was Regional Higher Education Officer, Bareilly, Dr. Ashwani Kumar Goel. Sh.Umakantji Gupta, honorable manager , managing committee, presided
over the function. In the beginning of the programme, all the present alumni had given their brief introduction .
They were given a souvenir and a momentous at the time of arrival.Nearly 150 alumni attended the programme.
The formal function was inaugurated by Dr. Goel by garlanding Maa Saraswati and lit a lamp along with Principal Dr. Sweety Talwar and Sh. Umakantji, manager,managing committee. Dr. Manju Jain, alumnus and Sr. lecturer presented the brief history of the college and focused on the purpose of programme.
The introduction of the honorable chief guest was given by Dr. Seema Mahendra, alumnus and lecturer of the college.
A cultural event was also organized in which alumnus Dr. Rosy Aneja, presently a gynecologist in Ambala city had presented some memorable and melodious songs. Dr. Neeru Nagrath, lecturer in Ambala city, presented a poem on childhood. Smt. Santosh Rani Gupta, alumnus and founder member of the college shared her views and memorable incidents of Late Sh. Dayanand Guptaji , Founder of the college. Dr. Poonam Bansal presented some self-composed songs on reunion.
Students from current session Rachna, Anupriya, Deepika and Swati presented Saraswati vandana and some songs in the memory of the occasion. Dr. Archana Chahal, Sr. lecturer, Allahabad University, delivered an emotional speech about students life and shared her memories of the college. Dr. Mohini Pandey, Dr. Vibha Malik and Dr. Manju Jain also shared their memoirs of the college. Our honorable chief guest, Dr. Ashwani Kumar Goel announced in his address that DAK PG College is the only college in the university who had organized Alumni Meet on such a large scale and he wished this college would progress much in the years to come.
Dr. Sweety Talwar, Principal, delivered vote of thanks and wished success to all the participants.
The function was followed by lunch and everybody left the premises with teary eyes and exchanging phone numbers and addresses. The programme was conducted and organized by Dr. Reena Mittal, lecturer and alumnus of the college.
